Nordic Walking is a new movement concept developed by Finnish ling-distance skiers for Summer training purposes. One walks swinging special sticks along with the body movement. This activate 90 percent of all muscles, the strain on the locomotive apparatus is relieved by 30 percent and the stored energy is used up to 45 percent more than during traditional jogging. |

By means of the typical arm swinging it is an effective full-body training that strengthens the arm, shoulder, chest and back muscles and improves posture. A brisk march uses more energy than conventional hiking – and is absolutely gentle to the joints. Each step on even terrain relives the load on joints and spine by five kilograms, due to the sticks. |
