We will show you our mountains:
from Alpine pasture to Alpine pasture with a wonderful view of the hills and valleys,
eight up to the summit cross,
the view, the silence, the freedom, what an elated feeling ...
and unforgettable
Walking at Alpine altitudes gently supports your vitality. A medical study proved that a holiday stay in a climate between 1,200 and 2,000 metres above sea level has a positive effect on blood pressure, metabolism, weight and mental health. In the clear mountain air the body mobilises reserves and regenerates at the same time – even during a simple hike in the mountains or a leisurely walk in the forest.
hiking map
One sits on a mountain looking at other mountains – what else is there?
Bush and forest, birds’ songs and peace, mountain air
and the view across the skies – for those with a hour to spare.
You don’t explain beauty, You experience it.

Alpine hike to the waterfall lakes
An extensive Apline hike in a largely original mountainous landscape. In Summer, almost all of the lodges are in operation. Generally, this hike is fairly comfortable, as only the last descent is a little steep and stony.
Route description: From the Weiler Bichl over the bridge of the Racines stream up the hill towards the Reaser farmyard. Before reaching it, a steep road leads off to the right marked 13b. It leads to the derelict Waldalm, 1773 m, 1.5 hours. Just above the lodge there is the mountain station of the chair lift leading up from Racines. |
Many signposts lead from here to various destinations. On along path 13b over pastoral terrain up to the Landleralm, 1903 m, ½ hour. In less than half an hour of further ascent you will reach the ridge that separates Racines valley from Passiria (Passeier) valley. On clear days you can look a long way from here. A few steps towards the West lead to the small, partially marshy waterfall lakes embedded there. ¼ hour later you are back at the Landleralm following marking 15A over pastures and through the woods to the Outer Wumbelsalm, 1865 m, 1 hour. The Alpine path moderately leads up to a fenced preserve (pastoral border). On the other side back down through the forest and over Alpine meadows with breathtaking views for the Inner Wumblsalm, 1906 m, 1 hour. The two Wumblsalms have maintained their originality until today. From the Inner Wumblsalm marking 10 leads down into the valley. This path is rather strenuous, full of roots and stony. After ¾ hour is meets the valley road at the small bridge over Racinesstream. The path leads down into the Racines valley in about an hour.
Total hiking time: approx. 6 hours
